In September 2000, I went to Switzerland for a week. I stayed with
my parents in the town of Villars-sur-Ollon, which is nestled in the Alps at
1300 meters above sea level. Villars is located above the
Rhone river valley, in the Frech-speaking part of Switzerland.
Each day I made a different excursion out into the local area. On
various days, I saw parts of German and French Switzerland, as well as
France and Italy.
In the Rhone valley: Sion
Day trip to Mont Blanc on the border of France and Italy
Chillon castle on the eastern shore of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva)
Castle in the town of Aigle in the Rhone valley
Ruins of a chapel and keep above the town of St. Triphon in the Rhone valley
